About
Tourism and travel research dominates the World Wide Web and is expected to gain importance for consumers and operators in the coming years. Atlantic Canada's Tourism stakeholders must continue to invest in improving their competitive position on the Web.
TourismTechnology.com is designed as a strategic partnership between the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the four tourism departments and four tourism associations industry in Atlantic Canada. TourismTechnology.com provides technology support and training as well as research, and consultation services to the region's tourism industry.
The TourismTechnology.com program is designed to help operators understand what they need to be doing with their online presence, mainly their website’s appearance, functionality, usability, online marketing of their website, and how to use it as a close of sale option for their operation.
To make sure that when a traveler is searching online to make their travel decisions and finds your business on the internet, your website will make the best possible first impression on them. They will feel comfortable and want to book their accommodations with you. In short, keep them from clicking the back button and go on searching for something else, or someplace else.
The TourismTechnology.com program is setup as a one-on-one session with the operator and the Technology Resource Coordinator and can take anywhere from 2- 4hrs depending on the questions and conversations that come about from the session. The Coordinator will either come to your place of business, or you’re also welcome to come into one of the provincial tourism industry offices.
At the end of the session you will receive a “To do” list for your website that outlines any areas that need improvements, a manual that contains all our best practices information in printed format, and a CD that contains all the manual information, research information, our presentations, and a demonstration “best practices” example website, all in electronic format.
To sign up for a mentoring session, please contact the local TourismTechnology.com coordinator in your Province.
